The Office of the Inspector General at the National Security Agency is looking for an individual capable of taking initiative and exercising independent judgment as the Assistant Inspector General for Audits. This is an Executive-level Defense Intelligence Senior Leadership (DISL) position. Highly-qualified candidates at the GG15 level are also encouraged to apply for consideration. This position is responsible to the Inspector General (IG) for overseeing and conducting audits of a wide range of intelligence programs and Agency operations, including acquisition and contracting activities. The AIG for Audits advises the IG on matters affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of NSA and on steps that should be taken to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and mismanagement in NSA programs and operations. Specific responsibilities include, but not limited to: ' Leading and managing the performance of complex and comprehensive audits (operational and cyber) and evaluations of NSA programs and operations; ' Overseeing the planning and scheduling of audits and evaluations, and developing and implementing performance-based metrics for the audit function; ' Directing the development of formal reports of findings and making recommendations to Agency officials for corrective actions; ' Developing and adhering to policies and procedures for the conduct of audits and evaluations in accordance with established professional standards; ' Overseeing contract with an independent public accounting firm, and advising the IG on a variety of complex financial audit issues; ' Designing a training program to increase the knowledge, skills, and professional development of auditors; ' Consulting with the NSA General Counsel on matters involving interpretation or possible violations of law, rules, or regulations; ' Advising the IG and the Director, Deputy Director, and other Agency leadership officials on audit matters; ' Coordinating with external IG, audit, and security organizations on jurisdiction, reporting, and other matters of mutual interest; and ' Performing other duties as directed by the IG.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Periodic extended hours may be necessary. International and domestic travel may be required. The incumbent is subject to random drug and polygraph testing. This position requires a TOP SECRET clearance and SPECIAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION (SBI) Salary: $170,800 to $181,500
