With the ever-accelerating technological advances and growing system complexity, NSA needs STEM Technical Leaders to manage and direct technical projects, programs, research or workgroups. STEM Technical Leaders leverage their expertise from a variety of areas (e.g., computer science, systems engineering, infrastructure and logistics, among others) to effectively and efficiently deliver the products and services that protect the nation. STEM Technical Leaders are hired into positions supporting a broad range of specialized skills including serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in Computer Science, Engineering/Physical Science, Networking/Telecommunications, Cyber, Math, or related field (e.g., Information Assurance, Computer Security). As a STEM Technical Leader at the NSA, you responsibilities may include: - identifying and assessing organizational, business, or user needs, constraints, and requirements as they relate to the system, process, or structure being designed. - analyzing problems to determine technical solutions. - conducting reviews to validate functional, operational, or user requirements - recommending architectures and procedures required to solve technical problems - developing functional, operational, or user requirements - identifying existing and new products, technologies, techniques, and/or architectures to solve design, development, and operational problems
As an Engineering and Physical Science professional, you will use your skills to create the systems and tools that will be used to enhance the operation of intelligence. You will advise, administer and perform scientific projects, such as planning, designing, and constructing specialized equipment, and ensuring adherence to sound engineering and scientific standards and principles. The NSA offers multiple areas of focus for facilities engineers, including computer, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural. Salary Range: $103,690 - $159,286 (Senior) - NSA Headquarters Salary Range: $94,760 - $141,548 (Senior) - NSA Georgia *The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. -For Engineering & Physical Science, Mathematics, and Cryptanalysis disciplines, entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. For Computer Science, Cyber, and Networking & Telecommunications, entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. On-the job training, Internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee. Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirements between 0600 to 1800 (flexible)
